Tropical storms in Nebraska? I don’t think so. But one of this Hurricane knock-off’s primary ingredients is Kool-Aid, invented in Nebraska in 1927. Think of it as fruit punch for grown-ups!
Tropical Storm
- 4 ounces Tropical Punch Kool-Aid syrup
- 1-1/2 ounces fresh-squeezed lemon juice
- 3 ounces dark rum
-
To make the Kool-Aid syrup: Prepare a package of (unsweetened) Kool-Aid according to the directions, but add half as much water as the package calls for.
-
Mix syrup, lemon juice and rum. Pour over ice. Garnish with a lemon twist.
