Customize this classic side dish with any meat, vegetable and starch.
Minnesota Hot Dish
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 package frozen tater tots (you probably won't use the whole package, but this is usually the smallest size I can find)
- 2 10-ounce cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 2 cans vegetables (green beans, corn, peas, whatever you like)
- 4 ounces cheddar cheese (shredded)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Brown the ground beef and drain the fat.

Grease a 2-1/2 quart dish, and add beef.

Drain liquid from canned vegetables, then spread over the meat.

Spread soup over the vegetables; do not add water or milk. Use soup in concentrated form.

Top with tater tots.

Bake, uncovered, 50 minutes.

Serve topped with shredded cheddar cheese.
Note: You can substitute a bag of frozen vegetables for the canned.
